Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions are the agreement between you and Kotapo about how kotapo.com may be used. If you read, browse, or otherwise interact with the site, you accept the terms set out below.
Last updated · January 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing kotapo.com (the “Site”) you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”), together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If any part of these Terms is unacceptable to you, the appropriate response is to stop using the Site.
Kotapo is operated as a modern editorial publication for discovering influential ebooks and enduring books. We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version will always live at this URL, with the most recent revision date shown above.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use Kotapo only for lawful purposes and in a way that is consistent with these Terms and applicable law. In particular, you agree that you will not:
- Take any action that could damage, disable, overload, or impair Kotapo, or interfere with another visitor's use of it.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, our infrastructure, or any related systems or networks.
- Use crawlers, scrapers, bots, or other automated tools to harvest content or imitate human traffic without our prior written permission.
- Use the Site to transmit anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful.
- Reproduce, republish, copy, sell, resell, or commercially exploit any part of the Site without prior written authorization from Kotapo.
3. Editorial content
Kotapo publishes editorial work — book reviews, distilled summaries, key takeaways, recommended-reading paths, and commentary. That content reflects the considered opinions of our editorial team. We make a reasonable effort to keep it accurate, but it is offered for informational and discovery purposes and should never be treated as professional financial, legal, medical, or psychological advice.
Book metadata, ratings, links, and editorial framing on Kotapo can change over time. Details about a specific title are offered in good faith and may not always reflect the most recent edition, translation, or publisher listing.
4. Intellectual property
All original editorial content on Kotapo — reviews, summaries, curated shelves, design system, brand assets, and the "Kotapo" name and logo — belongs to Kotapo or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
Book titles, author names, and cover artwork displayed on Kotapo are the property of their respective rights holders. They appear here strictly to identify the books we discuss editorially, and their inclusion does not imply that the rights holders endorse, sponsor, or are otherwise affiliated with Kotapo.
You are welcome to quote a short passage or share a link to a Kotapo page for personal, non-commercial use, provided you clearly credit Kotapo as the source. Any other reuse — including republication, training of automated systems, or commercial redistribution — requires our prior written consent.
5. No file hosting or distribution
Kotapo is, and intends to remain, an editorial discovery service. We do not host, distribute, mirror, sell, or share ebook files of any kind. When you select an external link on a book page, you are sent to a third-party publisher, bookseller, library platform, or open archive that holds the actual book. Any decision to download, borrow, or buy a copy is governed entirely by the terms of those third parties, not by Kotapo.
6. Third-party links
Kotapo includes outbound links to third-party services such as Google Books, Goodreads, Amazon, Project Gutenberg, and publisher pages. These are provided for your convenience. Kotapo does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, accuracy, or business practices of any third-party site we link to.
7. Advertising
Kotapo may show advertising delivered by third-party ad networks. The presence of an advertisement on the Site is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its products. Kotapo is not responsible for the content of advertisements, nor for any communication, purchase, or dispute that takes place between you and an advertiser.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kotapo disclaims every warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of viruses or other harmful components, or that the content will be complete, current, or correct at every moment in time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kotapo, its editors, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Kotapo and its editors and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of, or in any way connected with, your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kotapo is operated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively before the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on this page together with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Site after a revision means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Contact
If you have any question about these Terms, write to the Kotapo editorial desk at haithemhamtinee@gmail.com.
